Isla Light was created from the feeling I want my work to hold: softness, warmth, and a sense of ease. A space where you can feel comfortable and fully yourself without pressure or perfection.
What matters most to me is not only creating beautiful images, but creating an experience where you feel confident, connected, and genuinely cared for.
I never want it to feel transactional or distant. Building trust and a real connection with the people I photograph is a big part of what makes the experience meaningful to me.

Welcome, I'm Roanny
Based in the beautiful Dominican Republic and raised in Punta Cana.
Photography wasn’t always part of the plan for me. I was studying a completely different career and felt unsure of where I truly belonged or what I wanted for myself. Everything changed when my dad gave me a digital camera for a photography class. I still remember the excitement I felt holding it for the first time. Something instantly clicked, and from that moment I wanted to learn everything about it.
I’ve always been someone who quietly observes people, their interactions, emotions, and the way they naturally connect with one another. Over the years, photography became an extension of that. Much more than taking beautiful images, it became a way for me to preserve moments in an honest and meaningful way.
Outside of photography, I’m a very family-oriented person. I love spending time with the people closest to me, I’m completely obsessed with dogs, especially my dog Maui, and if I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me watching a thriller movie, planning my next trip because I absolutely love traveling, or making a michelada or Aperol while pretending I’m a bartender.
